Photovoltaic power plants, also known as solar plants, generate electricity by directly converting sunlight into electrical energy through photovoltaic cells. They are a renewable and sustainable energy source that reduces dependence on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions.

Photovoltaic power plants vary in size, from small rooftop installations to large utility-scale facilities, with the largest plants generating hundreds of megawatts of electricity. They are becoming increasingly cost-competitive compared to traditional energy sources, and their maintenance costs are relatively low. Photovoltaic power plants can be installed in a variety of locations and provide a reliable and stable energy supply with minimal environmental impact.
