BESS "La Loma"

The objective of this project is the construction of a 36 MW / 72 MWh energy storage system, using Li-ion battery infrastructure, next to the "La Loma" Substation (20/220 kV) where the La Loma Wind Farm evacuates its energy, to store part of the electrical energy generated by the wind farm.

This battery energy storage system (BESS) is conceived as a hybrid installation combining wind power technology with battery storage modules, providing an electrochemical storage solution to improve the efficiency of the electrical system by enabling greater integration of renewable energies, increasing system flexibility, and helping to flatten the demand curve.

BESS "La Loma"

Project awarded funding under the grant scheme for innovative energy storage projects hybridized with renewable energy generation facilities, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
