The Gavorrano Agrivoltaic Plant Begins Operations
A New Milestone for Alerion
The Gavorrano agrivoltaic plant in Tuscany has officially entered operation, marking another important milestone in Alerion Clean Power’s growth journey within the renewable energy sector.
Following the successful energization of the facility, the plant has started generating solar power and will reach full operational capacity once the final hot commissioning activities by the suppliers have been completed.
This achievement marks the culmination of a journey that began nearly three years ago and reflects the Company’s ongoing commitment to developing sustainable energy infrastructure, from project origination through to commissioning.
A Project Built on Collaboration
The Gavorrano project is the result of the collective efforts of numerous company teams and project partners involved throughout the various stages of development.
From the initial development phase and permitting process to engineering, construction and final commissioning, every milestone was achieved through the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams working towards a shared goal: transforming the area’s solar potential into clean, renewable energy.

The Group’s First Advanced Agrivoltaic Plant
Gavorrano also represents a significant milestone in the Group’s innovation journey as its first advanced agrivoltaic facility.
In the coming months, the project will enter a new phase with the launch of the planned beekeeping activities, reaffirming the Company’s approach of integrating renewable energy production with agricultural practices and biodiversity enhancement.
At the same time, the activities required to complete the process under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) will continue. The plant falls under Investment 1.1 “Agrivoltaic Development” of Mission 2, which promotes advanced agrivoltaic systems capable of combining renewable energy generation with the continuity of agricultural activities while monitoring their environmental benefits. Access to these incentives represents an important recognition of the project’s value and its contribution to Italy’s decarbonization, innovation and sustainable agricultural development objectives.
