Giuseppe Garofano, Founder and Vice Chairman

Giuseppe Garofano was awarded his degree in Chemical Engineering from the Politecnico of Milano and his MBA from Bocconi University and became CEO and then Chairman of Montedison.He also held the positions of Chairman at Previdente Assicurazioni (insurance); Vice Chairman of Fondiaria and Milano Assicurazioni (insurance); Director and Member of the Board of Executive Directors of Banca Mercantile (banking); Director at RAS (insurance); Director at Deutsche Bank Italy; Director at Mediobanca; Director at Gemina; Director at Rizzoli and member of the Advisory Board of BERD (Bank for European Reconstruction and Development). He subsequently founded the company IBI, which became Alerion.

Giulio Antonello, CEO

Of Swiss nationality, Giulio Antonello was schooled in the United States where he earned a degree in finance from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MIA from Columbia University. He also worked in the USA as an Investment Banker for the Credit Agricole Group. Once back in Europe, he held various positions within the cement group Holcim AG in Switzerland. He joined Alerion when it was founded, becoming its CEO in 2006.
